For a DIYer like myself, chances are you will never encounter a job that this drill cannot handle. I would not make this my only drill though (I have a light-to-medium-duty sub-compact that I use for most jobs). I bought mine primarily for concrete drilling, but I have also used it to do things like cut holes for doorknobs.
