DS200-s4 Worked well after glueing in the bit. The provided bit locks into the screw gun with a ball bearing and a grove around the bit. After about three screws being driven the bit would pull loose from the driver. I ended up glueing it in with gorillia glue. Contacted Senco and was provided no help. Senco agreed to send me a new bit, but the bit never came. Called Senco again, they provided no additional help. They basically said that this company probably removed the Senco bit and replaced it with a generic bit. Senco's only advise was to bring it to one of their authorized dealer, which is 25 miles from my home in the city of Philadelphia. Buying Milwaukee 0721-21 V28 28-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Cordless Right Angle Drill/Driver Kit
It is not a total substitute for a permanent power winch on a 43' sailboat. Easy operation for the initial grinding on the main halyard or a jib sheet but will fault out (stop) when it gets close to the end (last 4-6 feet). Easy to handle as long as the winch is self-tailing.Get more detail about Milwaukee 0721-21 V28 28-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Cordless Right Angle Drill/Driver Kit.
Buy Milwaukee 0524-24 18 Volt 1/2-Inch T-Handle Hammer-Drill 0-500/1600 RPM with Two Batteries, Charger, and Case
This blew the doors off an 18v Hitachi. More power, longer run-time, and hammer-drill capability. It has survived a few drops already.
This drill is not for the weak. Your wrists and arms will ache if you are doing wall or ceiling work all day.
I wanted power and durability. It appears I have it. I'll put up with the weight.Get more detail about Milwaukee 0524-24 18 Volt 1/2-Inch T-Handle Hammer-Drill 0-500/1600 RPM with Two Batteries, Charger, and Case.
Purchase Milwaukee 2610-24 18-Volt Drill/Driver Kit
Watch out for this drill... I purchased most of the new M18 tools with extra batteries etc etc. and this particular drill broke the 2nd time I used it. I had the side handle on it and while using a hole saw it snapped a piece off the drill itself(the piece that holds the side handle on) the cheap pot metal drill casing/body broke right off . Now it cannot be used with a side handle and there is sharp metal on the body of the drill exposed..Not so "Nothing but Heavy duty"! In all my years of using cordless tools on jobs I have never seen anything like this, why they did not use the standard ring type side handle clamp is beyond me. Also the drill cuts out under load like the other reviewer mentioned and the battery life is no more than my Dewalt 18volt Ni-Cads. Back to Makita and Dewalt for me.Get more detail about Milwaukee 2610-24 18-Volt Drill/Driver Kit.

Shop For Factory-Reconditioned Bosch 37618-01-RT 18-Volt 1/2-Inch Brute Tough Litheon Drill/Driver with 2-Fat Batteries
I wanted a drill that would have enough power to drill through wood joists in my attic and that would not run out of juice too often. I have used the drill for several weeks and find it to be everything I had hoped it would. I like the size; it is bigger than the run of the mill drill I see at HQ and Lowes. The light built into the base is a nice touch; it helpsout in low light conditions. I felt comfortable with Bosch as I have had a corded drill of theirs for about fifteen years. I have also used and appreciated their hammer drills.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Bosch 37618-01-RT 18-Volt 1/2-Inch Brute Tough Litheon Drill/Driver with 2-Fat Batteries.
Skil 2895-01 Drive II 18-Volt Cordless Drill/Driver
This is an ok [edit to] a quite good drill for a homeowner, but it does have power issues for an 18v, [edit] however it has plenty of power for the homeowner. Also, do not even bother to use the bits that come with it for anything more than light work otherwise they will disintegrate, which will leave you wondering how tough the drill can be. That said, the refurbished (at $80) seems worth it; although after I bought this someone Craigslisted a Dewalt 14.4v hammer drill for $40 that I wished I had bought instead, maybe that is why I am pessimistic about this drill.
But it is a little cheap feeling and looking: the battery pack is a little bit loose, the plastic isn't too hardy feeling, its power isn't quite as high as most 18v that I've used, the lowest clutch setting seems too light, and I'm not convinced that the battery has a long life--although with two and the charger for the homeowner that is a non-issue.
The level is nice and useful, the charge indicator is also quite nice, the handle attachment is alright, it feels balanced, and I hope I'll get a lot of use out of it (I'll probably post an update after a while to mitigate my current pessimism or at least provide a more complete review).
[edit] After one month of got quite a lot of usage, and moved it up to a four star drill. I read a review that said shortly after purchasing it, the user put it under strain and it had a funny smell and a lose piece at the tip but worked great for years. I have had the same experience, lets hope it keeps going strong for years.
Overall I am becoming quite fond of it, seems tougher than it looked.Get more detail about Skil 2895-01 Drive II 18-Volt Cordless Drill/Driver.
Ridgid R5011 25348 8.5 Amp 1/2-Inch 2-Speed Hammer Drill Review

DEWALT DC520KA Heavy Duty 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Drywall/Deck Screwdriver Kit Top Quality
I must start by saying I'm a big fan of the DeWalt 18v line. There isn't much they make that I don't have. When I saw this was available, I thought it would be a great addition to the tool bag.
That said, it's just too heavy for all day use. They batteries last, but my arm doesn't. I can't say for sure if it's the weight of the tool or the balance, but either way, it doesn't work well for me for all day use.
It is a good tool for a few screws here or there. The motor is plenty powerful and the depth / clutch works well. I use it when I'm supervising a crew and am needed all over a job site. If I'm working in one location, I go with a traditional high-speed corded gun.Get more detail about DEWALT DC520KA Heavy Duty 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Drywall/Deck Screwdriver Kit.

Chicago Pneumatic CP715 Heavy Duty Air Hammer Immediately
This is a great product, its not really an industrial air hammer but it is versatile enough to make short work of pretty much whatever you need done around the house. This thing will make short work of tile, small pieces of concrete or pretty much any job that requires a small hammer to pound something into dust.
I have some friends who do industrial work and they have some higher end tools like SK and some that are only known by the pros. For a average home user who has a shop, this is more than enough and won't break the bank.
Be warned, after a while, it will take a toll on your hands and arms - do wear gloves and eye protection and make sure your chisels are installed correctly as this is a tool for professionals or people that have learned from the school of hard knocks.Get more detail about Chicago Pneumatic CP715 Heavy Duty Air Hammer.
Makita 6213DWBLE 3/8-Inch 12 Volt Drill/Driver Kit with Flashlight Best Quality
I have been completely satisfied with this product. I have used it daily on the job, working in adverse conditions (rain, cold, heat, any combo of them) for over 6 years. Started with the standard batteries and bought a 2nd drill with the new ni mh batteries 18 months ago. All batteries still work great. Both chargers still work great. (even though the older charger won't charge the newer batteries). One drill was even dropped into a full hot tub without lasting problems. I find the 12v driver to be light enough for extended use and still powerfull enough to drive long screws. If you are only doing occaisional work, the 14.4v may suit you better. Thanks to a thief, I am going to be purchasing another cordless soon, and it will be a Makita 12v.Get more detail about Makita 6213DWBLE 3/8-Inch 12 Volt Drill/Driver Kit with Flashlight.

As with any of the Festool tools, this screwdriver / drill is the most powerful cordless item I have ever laid my hands-on. The battery life is outstanding, the torque will blow you away. Also the power of the drill is maintained until the end of the battery life. So none of the drill will not turn not under a load as you see with most other cordless drills! DEWALT DW124K Heavy-Duty 11.5 Amp 1/2-Inch Joist and Stud Drill Right now
My corded drills don't really wear out as the key parts can be replaced but after many years with a Milwaukee stud drill I decided to try to find one that was lighter and had a dual speed range. In metal the low speed range is necessary but in wood it can be a time eater when the drill has more than enough torque to handle the higher RPM's. It has reverse but then so do all my other drills. When I get a bit stuck in metal reverse is critical if I want to retrieve the bit without breaking it.
The drill also has an unusually good case for a DeWalt drill and on par with the excellent cases from Milwaukee, Skill, and Porter Cable. The case serves more to protect my other gear from this drill than vice versa.
I use the DeWalt DW124K mostly with auger bits on wood or drilling in metal or very large holes in insulated wall panels. On increasingly rare occasions with a self feed bit in wood. For the past year I have been using a 18v cordless drill, also a DeWalt drill, the DCD970, with its 3-speed gearbox, and the new big gullet hole cutters from Blue Boar. The DeWalt DW124K is rated for 4-5/8" self feed bits and 6" hole saws in wood but the reality is that it just takes too long with either cutter. With a modern TCT hole cutter I can cut 3 holes for every one with the self feed bit and I don't need a 13 lb. stud drill, just the DeWalt 18 volt cordless drill. I have used the DeWalt DCD970 18 volt cordless drill to quickly cut 6-1/4" holes in inch thick OSB subflooring using one of the Blue Boar TCT hole cutters.
The DW124K does not have DeWalts ALC anti lock control like its smaller corded 1/2" drills but then it never has worked on my DW249 drill anyway so no loss. Great concept if it worked but from my own experience ALC only provides a false sense of security that quickly leads to injured wrists.
BLUE BOAR 6-1/4" (159mm) Self-Feed TCT 2-1/4" deep multipurpose Tungsten Carbide hole cutter outperforms self-feed bits & bi-metal hole saws. Cut wood, MDF, OSB, laminates, Hardie & chipboard, plaster, drywall, brick, Formica
DeWalt rates the DW124K at 1/2" with a twist bit in metal but I have had no difficulty boring 7/8" holes in mild and cast steel so long as I keep the RPM's low and use cutting oil. Important thought to use a sharp bit and preferably a cobalt drill bit.
Something that is not obvious until you actually pickup the DWK124K is how great a job the DeWalt engineers did at distributing the weight along the entire length of the tool. It feels like half the weight is supported by each arm instead of more like 80/20 with other drills like the Milwaukee Hole Hawg. So even though it's about a pound heavier than the Milwaukee (and has about 25% more power than the Milwaukee) the end result is that it is a lot less tiring to use overhead for extended periods of time.
The only part of the tool that I would change is the handle which has recesses for the head and tends to rock up and down while you are working the drill. No big deal but more of a minor nag with an otherwise very well designed tool.
You can really tell that the tool industry is really competitive with new tools and new refinements to old tools coming out all the time. Seems like more new innovations in the past 3 years than in the prior 20 years with power tools. Would be nice if that competitive spirit was not such a rarity these days instead of company execs trying to get no-bid contracts from the government by bribing their local congressman. Gives a whole new meaning to "buy American".

Lowest Price Makita HP2050F 6.6 Amp 3/4-Inch Hammer Drill with LED Light
This is a great hammer drill for everyday purposes. It has good power and nice features, such as the L.E.D. light. I thought the light was a gimmick at first, but when it was late afternoon and I find myself inside a building with no lights, the light was great. I have tried other hammer drills but for the money you can't beat this one. Of course if you are going to use this tool all day long there are better options. Discount Bare-Tool Hitachi DS18DLP4 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Driver Drill (Tool Only, No Battery)
I have had one of these in the kit form for over 2 years and it hasn't failed me yet in the field. I have dropped it off ladders, bored lotsa holes and it looks well abused. The main thing is the batteries seem to be still holding their charge unlike the nicads and NiMH I have used in the past. Also the drill itself is working great as well. I really like the metal chuck and heft so I bought another one to replace another drill (14.4v Bosch) I rarely use cause I am using this one. Like the older drill the chuck seems well centered unlike the Bosch (out, new). I also have some of the Dewalt 18 volt tools that have their merits. If you buy this tool I recommend the 3.0AH batteries. I am planning to get some of the other tools (Impact Screw driver, jig saw) and one more with batteries for a total of 4 that should get me through a day or two. Using the side handle is a good idea on this drill. The Bosch will be retired for household duty for my father.Get more detail about Bare-Tool Hitachi DS18DLP4 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-Inch Driver Drill (Tool Only, No Battery).

Cheap Milwaukee 6580-20 6.5 Amp Screwdriver
In overall construction, this is typical Milwaukee high quality. But the torque setting clutch is not perfect. Occasionally it stops in the disengaged position after driving a screw, and the motor will spin but the bit won't move until you whack the next screw enough to knock the clutch into engagement. Not an overwhelming problem, but this torque setting mechanism is not as trouble free or effective as that on the Milwaukee cordless driver/drills (which I also own).
In addition, I would like a bit more trigger travel to make it easier to get the speed you want, but that seems to be true of variable speed drivers and drills regardless of make.Get more detail about Milwaukee 6580-20 6.5 Amp Screwdriver.

Buy Panasonic EY7540LN2L 14.4 Volt Li-ion Impact Driver Kit with Light
2 stars over a durability issue? NO drill is meant to be dropped and a manufacturer shouldn't be expected to pay for the users error-case closed. Anyway, this is the second Panasonic drill I own, first being the 15.6 NimH driver, which I have owned for almost 4 years now and has been very durable. Even took an 8 foot fall off a ladder onto concrete, my mistake. It's been a superb Driver, second to none, only had to replace the batteries once in 4 years. I was so pleased with that drill I bought the impact Panasonic, what does that tell you?
UPDATE: March 8th- Now that I have a job completed with this drill I thought I would update this review. The drill drove 2 inch screws for a sub floor I had to lay down all day long, no recharge. It feels excellent in your hand, absolute ergonomic excellence, very light, no fatigue whatsoever, and the metal belt clip is very useful when you need your hands back. Love that the charge charges the old NiMH batteries as well as the new LI, very smart feature. Overall this drill outperforms my 15.6 which means it out performs most everything available in it's own class and the 18v class.
The only things I would change would be as follows:
1) the button for forward/reverse placement or design. Tends to be hit back and forth during general use pretty easily.
2) the LED on/off. Not to keen in having to hit a button to turn it on and then hit it again to turn it off. Although it does make sense since you don't need it all the time like the trigger engaged models (Makita). However I would rather have a button that either has it turn on when you press the trigger, or just keeps it off when you hit the trigger. Also the overall placement of the LED is good, but not great like the location on the chuck of the Makita.
3) the worklight also feels great in the hand but the upright position allows it to be knocked over easily when not in hand and the bulbs blow out from the impact. They do provide an on-board spare inside (also very smart) but be warned, if you knock it over, the bulb will more than likely blow out. Overall very bright and comfortable to use though.
Based on how well my 15.6 has held up and this way this drill feels and performs I highly recommend this drill even though it is on the higher end of the price range for impact drills. The reason for that is, it is the best one out there, you won't be disappointed.Get more detail about Panasonic EY7540LN2L 14.4 Volt Li-ion Impact Driver Kit with Light.
Order DEWALT D21002 Heavy-Duty 6 Amp 3/8-Inch Drill
Overall, this is a good drill. It's powerful, has a great chuck, isn't heavy, works well as a screwdriver, and isn't too loud. My only real complaint is that the handle isn't very comfortable. It's made only of plastic (no rubber grip), and this plastic has an abrasive pattern in it. It's not too hard to get used to (especially if you have tough hands), but nevertheless it's still uncomfortable.
Also, something I don't like about most corded drills (this one included) is that the handle is at the back of the drill, aka behind the center of gravity of the drill. So, when holding the drill you have to hold it back to keep it level, which often makes you accidentally press the trigger. Most cordless drills and some corded ones have the handle near the center to prevent the drill from tipping forward or backwards when you're just holding it up in the air. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them.
Before I got this drill I was concerned about how it would perform when using it as a screwdriver because (like most corded drills) it doesn't have a clutch. For example, my dad's old corded drill has lots of momentum and no clutch, so after letting go of the trigger the drill keeps going for quite a while, which makes screwing quite difficult because it often puts the screw in too far. But, I was happy to find out that this DeWalt stops fairly quickly after letting go of the trigger (despite having no clutch) so it works well as a screwdriver.
I know of some other drills that have more comfortable handles and that have the handle at the center of the drill, so if you're concerned about comfort then I suggest looking elsewhere. But, if a little discomfort doesn't bother you then this will be a great drill for you.Get more detail about DEWALT D21002 Heavy-Duty 6 Amp 3/8-Inch Drill.
Where To Buy ACDelco AC-PT003 6.6 Amp 1/2-Inch Hammer Drill
I needed a hammer drill just for a very small project that took a couple weekends of sporadic use. Although I'm a cordless type of user, I didn't mind the cord here since this wasn't going to be my main drill (I have a very nice Dewalt cordless for that), but only very limited use. The low price attracted me. The quality of the unit is not bad at all. Had no trouble going through some really thick concrete slabs. Key chuck is very old school but again, economizing has its downsides but liveable if wont be used daily.

Skil 2510-02 14.4-Volt Lithium Ion Drill/Driver Review
The batteries on my old Crafstman drill-driver died and I realized that a new drill driver like this one was cheaper than buying two replacement batteries for the old one so I got this one. So far it is fantastic. It is much lighter then I expected. True my old one had ni-cad batteries but this one is exceptionally light. It seems to have all the features I care about such as a variable speed based on how hard you pull the trigger, a setting where you can log the driver and use it as an ordinary screwdriver and an easy to use keyless chuck. Bonus features are the light that shines on what your are screwing and how fast it recharges. It is missing a built in level which I found to be helpful before but find I don't really miss that much.Get more detail about Skil 2510-02 14.4-Volt Lithium Ion Drill/Driver.
Skil 2520-02 14.4-Volt Lithium-Ion 2-Speed Drill/Driver Top Quality
This is a nice little drill. Light, compact, powerful. The lithium battery will hopefully last much longer than the old, hazardous ni-cad's I am used to.
One gotcha with this particular item is that it does NOT come with a spare battery, so it is not as good a deal as the price would lead you to expect.Get more detail about Skil 2520-02 14.4-Volt Lithium-Ion 2-Speed Drill/Driver.
Jet JNS-4031KL 3/8-inch Reverse Drill 1/2 HP W/Keyless Chuck This instant
I use this drill for almost every task including driving screws. I think their variable speed statement is a little lacking. I didn't buy it for that fact so it doesn't matter to me. Trying to pull the trigger slowly never works. I would recommend at least a 3/8" if not a 1/2" air hose no longer than 50 feet in order to keep the line pressure up.Get more detail about Jet JNS-4031KL 3/8-inch Reverse Drill 1/2 HP W/Keyless Chuck.
Milwaukee 0235-21 Magnum 5.5 Amp 1/2-Inch Drill with Keyless Chuck Immediately
This model has been superceded in the Milwaukee line. Have used similar models from 1/4" up for years. Talked to guys at Milwaukee service center as I needed a new 1/2". They said to get the old model if I could find one as they've seen quite a few armature issues with the new ones. I've got a couple of other of these Milwaukees in other sizes that have endured more than 20 years use with minimal attention.
I tried the -21 model to check out the keyless chuck. I'm generally not a fan of keyless chucks on HD drills, but would probably have replaced the keyed chuck with a Jacobs so I figured I might as well try the keyless and then replace it with a keyed Jacobs. So far it's been better than I expected but will still probably be replaced.Get more detail about Milwaukee 0235-21 Magnum 5.5 Amp 1/2-Inch Drill with Keyless Chuck.

Senco 790004N / DS200-S2 Duraspin 2,500 RPM 1-Inch to 2-Inch Screwgun Get it now!
So I started using this gun and it worked pretty well for putting down underlayment for the basement finishing project I've been working on (basically screwing sheets of plywood together).
First, the overall performance of this tool is really good. It is better with a 4500 RPM screw gun (with adapters the collated attachment itself is compatible with most major brands of drywall guns) but the collated adapter certainly speeds up this kind of job and the longer reach attachment really saves your back when putting down subflooring or underlayment. For my specific job (screwing sheets of 1/2" plywood together) the correct screws make a world of difference. For this kind of application get underlayment screws, anything else will strip the plywood and require repeated attempts to re-drive the screw with another drill/driver. However my issue isn't with the tool so much as Senco.
After a little break in period the bit became much easier to remove from the screw gun. Which would have been fine but it was getting caught in the plastic collating strip that holds the screws and pulled out by the mechanism's return spring. So I called Senco and the guy said I was missing the "bit retainer" which had likely fallen out when I was putting adapters on or taking it apart. So I ordered some directly from Juldan (who ship super fast and have an excellent selection of parts and tools). Turns out the service guy from Senco told me to get the wrong part as he'd instructed me to get the bit retainer for the Senco DS300-S2 Duraspin 2500 RPM Collated Screwdriver with Extension Kit screwgun (drives longer screws). So I called up Senco again and told them that the bit retainer wouldn't actually fit since there wasn't any place to put it. I asked them to send me the right part and they did. It arrived in a couple days and I was finally up and running again.
I found that the bit retainer assembly for the DS200 includes the bit retainer for the DS300 which is simply a small part that clips in to the larger piece of the DS200 bit retainer assembly. I had to take apart the collated attachment to put the part in, in other words, it shipped missing a fairly critical component and was no fault of mine that it was missing.
So I'm glad they finally made good but I'm not really impressed with their customer service. Telling me I probably wasn't putting the gun together or taking it apart correctly, and not shipping a $2 part for a new tool that is suddenly non-functional is not the way to win favor with a customer.Get more detail about Senco 790004N / DS200-S2 Duraspin 2,500 RPM 1-Inch to 2-Inch Screwgun.

All Power America APT1009 92 Piece 19.2 Volt Cordless Drill Kit Order Now
Pros:
Variable speed, reversing, cordless
Amazing variety of bits and drills
Both Pozi and Phillips bits in two lengths
Broad selection of Torx bits
Included masonry drills
Case to hold everything in logical order
Case is light gray, not black
Single #2 Phillips & Flat bit snaps to the drill body
Cons:
Case won't close properly, battery too wide
No hex or square drive bits
1/4" Drive Hex sockets won't fully seat onto drive adapter
Missing one Torx (T20) bit, extra T15
1/8" shank grinding bits seem misplaced on a 550 RPM tool, they need to spin at 20,000 RPM
All the small bits randomly inserted into the case, when I arranged them I found the missing T20
Removing and inserting the bits from the case requires a tool, none provided
I got this drill set from a local retailer on Black Friday for thirty, so hard to go wrong. I was expecting high torque from a 19.2V drill, not to be. I tried driving some 1/4" X 6" lag bolts into pine and they barely moved. In fairness, my 30-YO B&D corded 3/8" VSR Drill was none to thrilled with the lag bolts either, but it did drive them all the way. The All Power did drill many holes in the same pine with a 7/8" spade bit.
All the Torx bits are a huge bonus for me inasmuch as large deck screws are now Torx drive. I'd much rather drive a screw than pound a nail for most any project.
The is in no way a professional tool nor was I expecting great things. I'll use it once a month and be happy that it's all in one case. I dinged the rating one star because of the cons, none major but in total one star.Get more detail about All Power America APT1009 92 Piece 19.2 Volt Cordless Drill Kit.
Factory-Reconditioned Makita 18V Cordless LXT Lithium-Ion 1/2-in Hammer Driver-Drill Kit BHP454 Decide Now
I bought two of these kits and the discount is hefty but at a price. Both kits lacked the depth rod, one lacked the side clip, both lacked the white plastic covers for the spare batteries, and one kit had a defective battery charger. Other than that the drill kits were as advertised.
Drill performance is adequate for most jobs and adjusting the speed range and hammer and driver modes is easy to do. The chucks tighten easily to hold even small drill bits but with vibration the chucks will loosen and you need to stop and retighten them.
Drill torque is average for 18 volt drills, better than the 450 in. lb. models but not in the same league as the Milwaukee 2611 much less the DeWalt DCD940 and DCD970 drills. This lower torque is compounded by the lack of a 3-speed gear box like the top of the line DeWalt drills. Strange that the manufacturers make lower powered cordless drills but do not see the need to provide more gear range options to compensate (other than DeWalt and Ridgid).
Battery charge time is good but Makita recommends a 60 minute cool down period after charging so for maximum battery life a 90 minute recharge time is evidently required.
The 3 Ah batteries do not have recessed contacts so the plastic covers are important for the spares. Holes per charge is average for 18 volt drills with full size batteries.
The Makita drills are lighter than comparable drills from DeWalt and a lot of that is the result of a lighter battery. The Makita 3 Ah battery weighs about 22 oz. while the DeWalt XRP batteries weigh 37 oz. or nearly a full pound more. The DeWalt battery's weight is offset by being able to deliver more power to the drill motor for heavy duty use and it provides a lot more holes per charge.
With lithium-ion drills I have read that they will not provide as much peak power as a NiCad and that has been my experience as well. I tend to just buy the next size up and get a drill with a higher power or torque rating and this works well most of the time.
The side handle that Makita makes is my favorite in that it locks in any position and is smooth to tighten compared to the DeWalt design. It is not as long as the handle that Milwaukee provides with the 2611 drills but it is also not limited to 90 degrees like the Milwaukee side handle. Makita does not provide a home for the side handle in the case which it not at all unusual. Only Milwaukee take the trouble to create a carry case that holds everything for each kit instead of taking the one size fits all that Makita, Hitachi, DeWalt, and others take. For attention to the details Milwaukee has a sizable lead over its competitors. For driving and drilling power the DeWalt drills are the best available.
Something that Makita used to do is not have holes at the back of the drill where your hand will cover the cooling vents. With their newer drills the venting was changed and now it is very easy to cover the vents and cut the cooling of the motor by half. Something to take note of when using the drill with both hands. When I am making holes in stucco I find myself using both hands with one hand on the back of the drill to add pressure. The new Blue Boar TCT hole cutters for stucco and wood make short work of the stucco or brick but a bit of pressure is needed to cut through the plywood and a second hand helps.
BLUE BOAR 6-1/4" (159mm) Stucco-Brick & Wood Tungsten Carbide Tipped TCT Hole Saw with 4" shank (M16 Thread), 10mm carbide pilot bit, ejection spring
I expect that the drills will hold up well based on my experience with other Makita cordless tools but that experience may not be typical for the brand. I would not recommend the reconditioned kits from Makita unless you have time to deal with their customer support people to get missing items or replace defective ones.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Makita 18V Cordless LXT Lithium-Ion 1/2-in Hammer Driver-Drill Kit BHP454.

Milwaukee 3102-6 Plumbers Kit 7 Amp 1/2-Inch Right Angle Drill with D-Handle Right now
Now it's to review my baby, I don't think that I have to explain anything. It is Milwaukee Right angle drill, that should be enough to buy it. But I have to mention that it comes with a plastic casing, not metal as advertised, actually that was the only reason why I bought this one. But It was a little disappointing to see it come in plastic casing.

Lowest Price Campbell Hausfeld PL154599AV 3/8-inch Reversible Drill
This drill has everything going for it. The fit and finish are excellent. It has very little runout, and Campbell Hausfeld didn't scrimp on the chuck; it's a Jacobs. I love the compact size and contoured grip; this drill feels like an extension of my hand. It's very good for drilling in tight places.
Here's a couple of tips...
Like most air drills, this one doesn't have variable speed, so you need to be ready when you hit the trigger.
For continuous or heavy use, It's a good idea to use an in-line or stationary oiler. And flood the drill with oil before you use it for the first time. I poured a teaspoon into the inlet as Campbell Hausfeld recommends.Get more detail about Campbell Hausfeld PL154599AV 3/8-inch Reversible Drill.
Low Price DEWALT DC988KA 18-Volt Cordless Hammerdrill/Drill/Driver Kit
I use this drill every day. I actually have several on the site along with a lot of other DW 18volt tools. You could definitely say that a lighter model like the 14volt DeWalt is more convenient for drywalling. And the hammerdrill function is only useful for very light work, like drilling the occasional anchor hole in brick. It is absolutely not a substitute for a real hammerdrill, even a small one like the Bosch bulldog. Nonetheless, it's very handy to have a drill like this in your holster. It can do 95% of what you need if you're doing basic residential home construction or remodeling. If you're a hobbyist, you could probably go with a lighter model, but this one really takes a beating. I abuse it - use it for things that I shouldn't, like running a mixing paddle for thinset - but it still runs straight and clean, handles finish work well. It's just a well-made tradesman's standby. I don't see how you could go wrong with it.Get more detail about DEWALT DC988KA 18-Volt Cordless Hammerdrill/Drill/Driver Kit.
Save Factory-Reconditioned Ryobi ZRP811 18-Volt Torque IV Drill Kit
Pros: Overall the drill performs well. I have used it to drill holes in steel, aluminum and wood. The drill is plenty powerful for most applications. Additionally the drill is very well balanced and comfortable to use in various positions. The drill also does a good job driving screws.
Cons: The forward/reverse switch does not move as smoothly as I would like. This was a reconditioned drill kit and I am sure the batteries were not fresh. The batteries do not hold a charge for long.
Overall: Good drill but cannot recommend purchasing a reconditioned kit if batteries are not new. Cost of purchasing new batteries off sets any savings.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Ryobi ZRP811 18-Volt Torque IV Drill Kit.

Cheapest Factory-Reconditioned Ridgid 2-Piece 12V Cordless Lithium-Ion Combo Kit ZRR92008
First of all, I'm delighted by the drill. Small, powerful, light runs all day on one battery. I do theatrical construction. This machine will run all day on one battery for assembly of 2x4 framing. And the pair of batteries will work for all of the intensive drilling activity of a strike. I've never been able to out outlast the batteries.
One tiny quibble -
I'm used to buying refurbished electronics; laptops, iPods, DVD players, remotes, etc.
Most reconditioners make every effort to make the refurbished products as much like new as possible. On the other hand, this recondtioner has had every effort put into making sure that you know that this drill is reconditioned.
The caveat of "some cosmetic blemishes" is certainly true. Not only are there marks of the original purchaser's work, but the reconditioner has also heat-stamped "RECON" into the handgrips of the drill.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Ridgid 2-Piece 12V Cordless Lithium-Ion Combo Kit ZRR92008.
Cheap Milwaukee 1675-6 Hole Hawg 7.5 Amp 1/2-Inch Joist and Stud Drill
I had a Harbor Freight China made knock off of this drill to use in my retirement, building a lake home. The China made one has a slip clutch,(un-advertised) two times it de - activated for no reason. After being repaired two times and then fail again it is now in the trash. This Milwaukee has a 5 year warranty. It has lots of power, so read the instruction manual, use the supplied pipe handle for leverage and THINK when using this very powerful tool.Get more detail about Milwaukee 1675-6 Hole Hawg 7.5 Amp 1/2-Inch Joist and Stud Drill.
Buying Makita HP2010N 6 Amp 3/4-Inch Hammer Drill
I have used makita hp2010n for mixing thinsets and grouts for over 20 years. I have only gone thru 3 of them. The weight is not as bad as other big drills I have used,(and those I gave away).I was talked into buying a lighter model the 2050. I used it for the last 2 years, when when my third 2010 burned up. Somewhat of a mistake, not enough power, and Today april 18th 2009, it died after 2 short years.I'm buying my forth hp2010n on line right now. One thing it and simular hammer/drills of this type can't do is be a real hammer drill, they are all to slow. So buy a hammer drill that takes sds bits etc.I have bosch and makita sds hammer drills they work great. As far as mixing thinsets, grouts for tiling and regular drilling with great power, I haven't found anything on the market I like better. Oh yeah and 5,6,7 days a week for 7 years each. Well you do the math.Get more detail about Makita HP2010N 6 Amp 3/4-Inch Hammer Drill.
Buy Skil 6445-01 120-Volt 1/2-Inch Hammer Drill
This drill works great for cement and cinder block drilling. The switch to change from hammer mode to drill mode was a bit tough to get into drill mode at first, but is now working fine. The housing is all plastic. The silver part is painted so there is no metal. The drill has plenty of power. If you want to use slower speeds it's a little tough to regulate.Get more detail about Skil 6445-01 120-Volt 1/2-Inch Hammer Drill.
Purchase Bosch 1012VSR 6.5 Amp 3/8-Inch Drill
I bought this drill as a Christmas gift for my brother, who just bought a fixer-upper and as a result has a lot of tasks that need doing. I have to confess I know not a lot about drills, but he told me exactly what he wanted and he is more than pleased. The drill is quite powerful and well-balanced in your hands when using it. The keyless chuck is a timesaver and makes changing bits a lot faster. All in all, an excellent all-purpose drill.Get more detail about Bosch 1012VSR 6.5 Amp 3/8-Inch Drill.

Order Factory-Reconditioned Senco DS202-14V, Cordless 14.4V Duraspin Collated Screwdriver 3P0001R
before i say this, i am no expert, and plan to get out the manual and thoroughly go through it before i give up. it really may be my fault and i don't know it. it's really great when it works for about 5 screws, then jambs 5 times! I'm thinking about contacting seller for return but will try my best first. handles screws right in front of you fine, seems to be when you are reaching in any direction...very hard get screw to engage without the leverage of being right behind it.Get more detail about Factory-Reconditioned Senco DS202-14V, Cordless 14.4V Duraspin Collated Screwdriver 3P0001R.

Bosch 1194AVSR 1/2-Inch VSR Hammer drill without Case Review
I would never go to a jobsite without this drill. It handles so many different tasks with ease. It is now indispensable. Need to retrofit bolts, this drill does it. Need to drill a lot of holes in mudsill, it is handled. Just be careful, because if the bit catches something, you can get hurt. 8 amps is a lot of power.Get more detail about Bosch 1194AVSR 1/2-Inch VSR Hammer drill without Case.
